Linen Workshop Online Store.

It's finally happened. My online store is up and running and ready to take orders. Of course there are still some tweaking and improvement I have to work on but so far I am satisfied with how it looks and functions considering how inept I am when it comes to computer science. This will be my other outlet besides my shop on Etsy.

American Made.

I just submitted my Etsy Shop to the American Made Contest presented by Martha Stewart this morning. My nominee page is located here. The finalists will be selected and announced and beginning Septembet 7th, 2012 the general public will be able to cast their votes each day for their favorite shop to win the Audience Choice Award. The winner will receive $10,000 and a trip to NYC to attend the American Made Award and the Workshop.

When it comes to a contest that requires public voting to determine the winners, I'm not at all confidence because I have never been popular and my product designs are geared towards a particular niche market. However, I think this is a great opportunity to introduce my new business to a broader audience and it would be a great fun to compete at a national level. I will post if I was selected as a finalist. If it ever happens, comes September 7th, my dear readers please go to the website and vote for me!!

French Macarons.

I was driving past my favorite French bakery the other day and I began craving French Macarons. My favorite flavor would be Pistachio. The smooth texture and mildly moist meringue cookies that melt in your mouth is a perfect snack for an afternoon tea.

There are debates about its origin whether in was created in the 18th century or earlier but the macarons that are known today were made popular by world renowned French pâtisserie, Pierre Desfontaines of Ladurée. The décor itself is as yummy as the almond cookies, honestly.

Unfortunately, there's no Ladurée near my home, the closest one is in NYC. But macarons from La Bonne Bouchée in Creve Coeur, MO are just as good. Another famous macaron is from Pierre Hermé in Paris. Many people think it's more superior.

Ladurée doesn't do online order but there are other pastry shops that will ship the macarons to your  home like Le Bonbon on Etsy here.

Going for gold!

The 2012 London Olympic is just over and I'm obsessed with all things gold or in this case, brass. Our real life superheroes, Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps, Gabby Douglas and the dynamic duo : Misty May-Treanor & Kerri Walsh Jennings, to name a few, have brought home gold medals for us to be proud of.  And I wanna be a part of this Golden Fever.

Let's start with this fabulous Brass Kaleidoscope from Kelly Wearstler Home Objects.

Ulu Convex Table from Jonathan Adler. You might have seen it on Fashion Police already.

The third gold piece I'm in love with is this Brass Knot from Kelly Wearstler.

This piece is absolutely funky and cool - The famous Hand Chair from Pedro Friedeberg.

And last but not least, from Versace Home Collection, The gorgeous Medusa Wall Lamp.

Avalon Blanket.

Welcome to my first post. It's approaching the end of Summer and I thought about how to keep warm at least during the next  7-8 months. Not that I could afford one but this Avalon throw blanket from Hermès is perfect to keep you warm in style during the upcoming cold fall and winter months.

The green one is just as fabulous. It was in the room of Kelly Wearstler's young son. What a lucky boy!

It also has a cameo in Sex and the City the movie :

And here over the back of a Louis XVI sofa. How chic is this room!
